Tom Symonds could offer no explanation for the gelding’s performance, other than Nico de Boinville reported that the gelding stopped quickly.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination, during routine testing of Llandinabo Lad (GB), failed to reveal any abnormalities.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching the home bend when the winner, Faivoir (FR), ridden by Bridget Andrews interfered with Llandinabo Lad (GB), placed fifth, ridden by Nico de Boinville, which in turn interfered with Nada To Prada (GB), placed third, ridden by Richard Patrick.
Andrews was suspended for 4 days for careless riding as she had edged left entering the bend, and failed to leave sufficient racing room for the two runners on her inside causing de Boinville to be short of room for some distance and causing Patrick to take a significant check on the rail.
