Having jumped the final fence the winner, Up The Straight (IRE), edged slightly left-handed at the same time as Jacamar (GER), placed second, shifted right-handed, resulting in them making contact and becoming unbalanced.
After viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and it had not improved the placing of Up The Straight (IRE).
Following the race, Brian Hughes reported that Presentandcounting (IRE), placed sixth, made a mistake and the first fence and jumped poorly thereafter.
