A cracking finish with three jumping the last together. It was Father Chris who battled best on the run-in to score on his first handicap start.

In front for most he was headed after the second last but responded well for Shane Jackson and showed great determination to take it up again after the last, just holding off Noble Investment.

The runner-up travelled into contention turning for home and threw down his challenge after the second last.

He may have had his head in front briefly but couldn't find a way past the winner close home.

Sabbiosa may just have won if she had jumped the last better. The mare was on top coming to the final flight but a slight mistake saw her land flat footed and that looked crucial.

Chaser Light On The Broom stayed on into fourth without troubling the leaders and may prefer further over timber.

Tailor Bill was ridden to second after the fourth last but had no more to offer early in the straight while All Sorts Star was weakening when a mistake two out put an end to his chances.

Grianan was reported to have burst a blood vessel.
