The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Eagle Terrace (GB), trained by Noel C
Kelly, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal
The Raceday Stewards interviewed Mr D. McGill, rider of Eagle Terrace (GB), concerning his use of the whip in the back straight of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that his mount was never on the bridle, he used the whip twice in the back straight hoping he'd come back on the bridle but his mount found nothing and he pulled up. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards found him in breach of Reg.10.3.(b)(unnecessary use) and having taken his record into account suspended him for two race days.
An extended handicap steeplechase for five years old and upwards rated 0-102 Penalties - Winner of a steeplechase after calculation of the handicap shall carry 7lb extra for each steeplechase won.
