An enquiry was held to consider interference inside the final furlong when Jer Batt (IRE), placed fourth, ridden by Callum Rodriguez interfered with Arecibo (FR), placed third, ridden by Zak Wheatley.
Rodriguez was cautioned for careless riding as he allowed his mount to drift left-handed without sufficient correction, taking Wheatley off his intended line.
The winner, Hiya Maite (GB), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at York on 25 May 2024 where the gelding finished tenth of twelve runners, beaten 7 ¼ lengths.
It was noted that the representative of Roy Bowring could offer no explanation for the gelding’s improved form.
Hiya Maite (GB) was routine tested.
Following the race, Ryan Sexton reported that The Ridler (GB), unplaced, hung right-handed.
