Permission was given for Dixiedoodledragon (IRE) to go early to post.
Just inside the 2 furlong marker, Doctor Mozart (IRE), placed third, hung quickly left-handed carrying Cheyenne Nation (IRE), unplaced, slightly off its intended line resulting in Azucena (IRE), unplaced, becoming unbalanced and its rider having to take a slight check, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Doctor Mozart (IRE).
The winner, STRENGTH ‘N HONOUR appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Ffos Las on 25 August 2022 where the gelding finished seventh of eight, beaten by 10¾ lengths.
The representative of Charlie Fellowes’ explanation that STRENGTH ‘N HONOUR appeared to benefit from the application of first time cheekpieces on this occasion was noted.
The gelding was routine tested.
Following the race, Joanna Mason reported that Azucena (IRE), unplaced, became unbalanced and briefly short of room just inside the 2 furlong marker and Ben Robinson reported that Dixiedoodledragon (IRE), unplaced, was never travelling.
