The Stewards enquired into an incident about a furlong from the finish involving Brad The Brief (GB), ridden by C.D. Hayes, unplaced, Fiscal Rules, ridden by K.J. Manning, unplaced and Know It All (GB), ridden by B.M
Coen, placed third, where it appeared that both Brad The Brief and Fiscal Rules had to check. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. C.D. Hayes stated that he suffered minor interference when going backwards and took a precautionary check off heels. K.J. Manning stated that his mount received a bump from his outside and subsequently bumped the horse on his inner. B.M. Coen stated that he was following the winner who moved slightly off line and that his mount reciprocated this movement despite his best efforts. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that the incident was accidental and therefore took no further action
C.D. Hayes, rider of Brad The Brief (GB) trained by Tom Dascombe (in GB), reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was checked in running
K.J. Manning, rider of Fiscal Rules trained by J. S. Bolger, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount had to check.
