An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race following interference approaching the final furlong involving the winner, KHATAK, placed second, ridden by Billy Garritty, War Of Words (IRE), ridden by Connor Beasley, and Nikovo (GB), placed fourth, ridden by David Nolan.
The Stewards considered that the interference had improved KHATAK’S placing over Nikovo (GB) in that the distance over which the interference took place and the momentum lost was considered more than the length by which Nikovo (GB) was beaten.
The placings are revised as follows: First; War Of Words (IRE), second; Law Supreme (FR), third; Nikovo (GB), fourth; KHATAK.
Garritty was suspended for 6 days for careless riding for allowing his mount to shift left-handed without correction causing Beasley to have to check his mount and Nikovo (GB) suffered considerable interference against the rail.
