An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference on the run to the lie when the winner, King Ademar (USA), ridden by Oisin Murphy, interfered with Global Hunter (IRE), placed second, ridden by Josephine Gordon.
The Stewards considered that the interference had improved King Ademar (USA)’s placing as the second was carried left-handed across the course for some considerable distance and was beaten a nose and revised the placings as follows: First; Global Hunter (IRE), Second; King Ademar (USA), Third; Nantucket (IRE), Fourth; Waterfront (IRE).
Murphy was cautioned for careless riding as he allowed his mount to drift left without sufficient correction carrying Global Hunter (IRE) off its intended line.
