Permission was given for Swatch (IRE) and Original Thinker (GB) to wear a red hood in the preliminaires, and for Dr Rio and Ey Up Its Jazz (GB) to go to post early.
An enquiry was held to consider interference shortly before the bend leaving the back straight, involving Headabovetherest (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Paul Mulrennan, Ey Up Its Jazz (GB), unplaced, ridden by Tom Eaves, and Mister Sox (GB), placed second, ridden by David Allan.
The interference was found to be accidental as the free running Headabovetherest (IRE), had ran between Ey Up Its Jazz (GB) and Mister Sox (GB), causing the gelding to become caught on heels and checked.
An enquiry was held to consider interference on the run to the line, when Mister Sox (GB), placed second, ridden by David Allan, interfered with Swatch (IRE), placed third, ridden by Silvestre De Sousa.
Allan cautioned for careless riding as he had allowed his mount to drift left without sufficient correction, causing De Sousa to take a precautionary check.
Following the race, Paul Mulrennan reported that Headabovetherest (IRE), unplaced, ran too free.
Kaine Wood reported that Ey Up Its Jazz (GB), unplaced, was unsuited by the Good to Soft, Soft in places ground on this occasion and would prefer a slower surface.
