Permission was given for Dubai Elegance (GB) to go early to post and for Hachert (GB) to wear a red hood to the start.
The raceday privilege request in relation to Hachert (GB), trained by Jennie Candlish, was not submitted.
Candlish was warned as to her responsibility to ensure that all raceday privilege requests are submitted by 1pm on the day before racing.
Dubai Elegance (GB), drawn 9, anticipated the start and accelerated the gate at the same moment as the race had been started, causing the mare to hit her head on the gate and be slowly away.
Being satisfied that it was not caused through a faulty action of the starting stalls, no further action was taken.
The Stewards further noted that the left-side gate of stall 10, holding No Diggity (IRE), failed to open fully as a result of heavy contact from the right-side gate of stall 9, after it had been forced open.
Shortly after the start, a free-running Hachert (GB), unplaced, shifted right hampering Outtake (GB), placed third, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Entering the home straight, Outtake (GB), placed third, ran onto the heels of Emulate Rose (GB), placed eighth, and was switched sharply right-handed causing Outtake (GB) to become unbalanced, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
The performance of Hachert (GB), which started favourite and finished unplaced, was considered.
Jennie Candlish’s representative explained that the gelding may be feeling the effects of a busy season, and will now be given a break.
