Permission was given for The Thames Boatman (GB) to go early to post and for Holy Fire (GB) to wear a red hood to post.
An enquiry was held into the running and riding of Crazy Luck (GB), ridden by Oisin Murphy and trained by Rod Millman, which was drawn wide and switched over to the rail, to race towards the rear of the field, before appearing to be tenderly handled up the home straight.
The rider was interviewed and shown recordings of the race.
The rider stated that the instructions were not to get caught wide, as it was drawn wide, and to settle the filly in the field.
Having jumped well Murphy stated that having maneuvered the filly over to the rail, the race was run at a strong pace and the filly was, in his opinion, flat out.
He further stated that the filly had no more left to give in the home straight.
Murphy’s explanation was noted.
Race 6 - 4:40pm.
THE VIRGIN BET DAILY EXTRA PLACES HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 3) (London Mile Series Qualifier) Permission was given for BLUELIGHT BAY (IRE), DANCING IN PARIS (FR), EXCEL POWER (IRE) and LIEBER POWER to all wear a red hood to post.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference on the run to the line, involving the winner, FARASI LANE (IRE) ridden by Kieren Shoemark; VULTAR (IRE), placed second, ridden by Richard Kingscote; and HIERONYMUS, placed third, ridden by Neil Callan.
The initial interference came from VULTAR (IRE), placed second onto HIERONYMUS, placed third and was further compounded by the winner FARASI LANE (IRE) in the final strides to the line.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved the placing of VULTAR (IRE), as despite giving HIERONYMUS a slight bump, it was the movement of the winner FARASI LANE (IRE) in the final strides that had caused the rider of HIERONYMUS to take a check.
The stewards therefore ordered the placings to remain unaltered.
The interference was found to be accidental as FARASI LANE (IRE), shifted quickly right-handed despite Shoemark’s best efforts, causing Callan to take a check in the final strides the line.
