At the request of the Stewards, C. Halpin, rider of A Million Bucks, trained by Thomas Gibney, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount made an abnormal respiratory noise in running
The Stewards wished to enquire into the running and riding of A Million Bucks, ridden by C. Halpin, and trained by Thomas Gibney. However, as the trainer was not present nor had he an Authorised Representative present to act on his behalf as required under the provisions of Rule 147(v), the Stewards referred the matter to the Referrals Committee for consideration. The Stewards also received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer who stated that A Million Bucks was post race normal. Samples were taken for further analysis
Furthermore, the Stewards fined Thomas Gibney, trainer, €130 for failing to lodge the appropriate authorisation form appointing a representative
The Stewards interviewed C. Halpin, rider of A Million Bucks, in relation to his failure to report in the first instance anything which might have affected the running of his mount in this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that he had forgotten to make the report to the Clerk of the Scales and apologised
Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that C. Halpin was in breach of Rule 213 and having considered his record in this regard the Stewards cautioned him on this occasion.
