Permission was given for Water Of Leith (IRE) to be mounted on the track and go early to post and for Patsy Fagan (IRE) to go early to post.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately 3½ furlongs out involving Portelet Bay (GB), placed fourth, ridden by George Downing, Patsy Fagan (IRE), placed third, ridden by Connor Murtagh and Secret Potion (GB), unplaced, ridden by Callum Shepherd.
The Stewards found that on the bend leaving the back straight Portelet Bay (GB) had initially edged slightly left-handed causing a free-running Patsy Fagan (IRE) to be tightened for room and resulted in Downing becoming aware that there were 2 runners racing on his inside.
Thereafter, Downing was suspended for 4 days for careless riding after taking too tighter line rounding the bend and failing to leave sufficient racing room for those 2 runners, which resulted in Patsy Fagan (IRE) being crowded towards the rail and in turn forced Shepherd to take a severe check on Secret Potion (GB).
Following the race, Phil Dennis reported that Water Of Leith (IRE), placed second, was slowly away and denied a clear run inside the final furlong; Connor Murtagh reported that Patsy Fagan (IRE), placed third, ran too free and the Veterinary Officer reported that Secret Potion (GB), unplaced, had lost its right- hind shoe.
