Sorcha Woods, rider of Persian Wolf trained by Edward Lynam, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that her mount got upset in the stalls and bolted during the early stages of the race
D.W. O'Connor, rider of Tynamite trained by David Marnane, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount ran short of room twice in the first furlong
R.P. Cleary, rider of Cool As Ever trained by James McAuley, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got badly hampered early on
The Stewards enquired into an incident shortly after leaving the stalls involving Malaysian, ridden by P.A. Harnett, Capla Knight, ridden by D. King, Persian Wolf, ridden by Sorcha Woods, Cool As Ever, ridden by R.P. Cleary, Cornish Rock, ridden by W. Joyce and Helen De Pourtales, ridden by R. Whearty, where it appeared interference occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. P.A. Harnett stated he received pressure from his outside and had to check back. D. King stated that he received a bump from his inside. Sorcha Woods stated that her horse was running keen and she couldn't take him back. R.P. Cleary stated that things got very tight. W. Joyce stated that he felt bunching on his outer. R. Whearty stated he received pressure from his outer. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied the interference was caused by Sorcha Woods mount Persian Wolf bolting and took no further action. D. The Stewards interviewed D. King, rider of Capla Knight, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted that he was in breach of the regulation and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were satisfied that D. King was in breach of Regulation 10.3.g, excessive frequency.
