An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately 1 ½ furlongs out, involving the winner, Johnjay (GB), ridden by John Egan, Double Down (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Hector Crouch, Rory The Cat (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Billy Garritty and Estehwadh (IRE), placed fifth, ridden by Saffie Osborne.
The interference was found to be accidental as Double Down (IRE) was hanging left-handed despite the best efforts of its rider.
Inside the final furlong, Rory The Cat (IRE), unplaced, hung right-handed onto Double Down (IRE), unplaced, taking the gelding slightly off its intended racing line, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Following the race, Ben Curtis reported that Little Helen (GB), placed second, reared as the stalls opened and was slowly away as a result, Ben Robinson reported that Zakram (IRE), unplaced, stopped quickly; the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities, John Egan reported that the winner, Johnjay (GB), hung badly left-handed, Saffie Osborne reported that Estehwadh (IRE), placed fifth, hung left-handed and Billy Garritty reported that Rory The Cat (IRE), unplaced, hung both ways.
The Veterinary Officer reported that Dabbous (IRE), unplaced, lost its left-hind shoe and that Madam Macho (GB), unplaced, was found to be lame behind.
