Marco Ghiani, the rider of Azets (GB), was slow to remove the blindfold, resulting in his horse being slow to start.
After being interviewed and shown recordings of the incident, Ghiani explained that the gelding was fractious in the stalls and subsequently dropped its head at the same time as the stalls opened resulting in him needing a second attempt to remove the blindfold.
His explanation was noted.
Following the race, Gina Mangan reported that Amor Fati (IRE), unplaced, hung right-handed throughout.
