The Stewards requested a report Denis Gerard Hogan, trainer of Young Dev, placed first regarding the apparent improvement in form of his charge compared with its previous run over hurdles when pulling up. The trainer reported that Young Dev had made a very bad mistake at the fourth last when last running over hurdles and had got detached thereafter. He also stated that Young Dev appeared to appreciate todays going and he felt that this had helped to bring about the improvement in form. Having considered the report, the Stewards noted the explanation given.
An extended handicap hurdle for four years old and upwards rated 80-102 Weights - Top weight in the original handicap shall not be less than 12st 4lbs Penalties - Winner of a hurdle race after calculation of the handicap shall carry 5lb extra for each hurdle race won. Riders - Qualified Riders under I.N.H.S. Rules who up to and including 26th November, 2019 have not ridden more than 25 winners under any N.H. Rules or Rules of Racing.
