Permission was given for Roxanne (GER) and Azahara Palace (GB) to both wear a red hood to the start; for Croeso Cymraeg (GB) to go early wearing a red hood to the start and to be mounted in the chute; for Shifter (GB) to be mounted in the chute; for Lunar Jet (GB) to wear a red hood to the start and to be mounted in the chute.
Mandarb (FR), drawn 11, anticipated the start and accelerated the gate at the same moment as the race had been started.
Being satisfied that it was not caused through a faulty action of the starting stalls, no further action was taken.
Approaching 3 furlongs out the winner, Croeso Cymraeg (GB), shifted marginally left-handed at the same time as Roxanne (GER), unplaced, was making its run causing that filly to be moved onto and give a bump to Monteria (IRE), unplaced, resulting in the gelding being carried off its intended line.
After viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Croeso Cymraeg (GB).
Following the race, Joanna Mason reported that This Years Love (GB), unplaced, ran too free and hung right-handed.
