1st - €10,710.50, 2nd - €2,635.00, 3rd - €1,240.00, 4th - €775.00 10 Ran A thrilling finale to this one saw bottom weight Le Citadel put his head in front in the shadows of the post to deny Starluck by a shorthead.
The winner continued the great start to the season for trainer Paul Deegan who looks to have the potential of going far in the training ranks.
Deegan was honest in his assessment of his latest winner saying the fact he was receiving 20 pounds from the second horse was a key but the trainer feels hurdling will be this three-year-old's future but he could improve further to score again on the level prior to that.
Starluck, a course and distance winner on his debut and penultimate start was extremely unlucky last time not to have got up ahead of Maidin Moch last time out but aside from the weight difference there was no real excuse this time around and the Key Of Luck gelding should be able to return to winning ways next time out.
Mid Mon Lady made it three in line a furlong out but he just didn't quite finish like the front two but ran a good race all the same and he continues to hold a close grasp on Starluck.
Chevalier Country caused a delay to the start when he had to be re-shod and having been second last the whole way around he finished well and claimed fourth spot. This was a more encouraging performance than previous efforts.
Maidin Moch failed to maintain the form of her seasonal reappearance and was just over four lengths fifth at the death.
