Permission was given for Kitaab (GB) to wear a red hood to post and for Warminster (GB) to go early to post and be mounted in the chute.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately one furlong after the start involving, Lewis Barnes (GB), unplaced, ridden by Paddy Bradley; Warminster (GB), unplaced, ridden by Phil Dennis; Alafdhal (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Rossa Ryan and Carlton And Co (GB), placed fourth, ridden by Billy Garritty.
The interference was found to be accidental as Dennis had been sufficiently clear before commencing his move left-handed towards the rail after which Lewis Barnes (GB) took a keen hold and improved onto his heels before shifting left-handed which carried Carlton And Co (GB) onto Alafdhal (IRE) which received a light bump.
Following the race, David Probert reported that Kitaab (GB), placed second, hung left-handed in the home straight and Rossa Ryan reported that Alafdhal (IRE), unplaced, was denied a clear run inside the final furlong.
The Veterinary Officer reported that Mumayaz (IRE), placed third, lost its right-hind shoe.
