The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages involving Tiger Paw, ridden by W.M
Lordan, placed first, and Silmaniya, ridden by B.M. Coen, placed second, where it appeared that Tiger Paw went left when Silmaniya was starting her challenge on his outer. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence, B.M. Coen stated that his mount was traveling strongly when Tiger Paw crossed her, knocked her off her stride and continued to intimidate her to the line. W.M. Lordan stated that his mount had been gelded since his last run and was wearing cheek pieces for the first time. He added that his mount ducked left when the whip was applied and he put it down before allowing his mount to race close to Silmaniya for company. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the Judge’s placings. The Stewards did, however, advise W. M. Lordan to ride with more awareness. .
