Permission was given for My Girl Maisie (IRE) to go early to post.
An enquiry was held to consider two incidents of interference.
The first incident occurred approximately 1 furlong after the start, when Poetic Motion (GB), placed fourth, ridden by Charlie Bennett interfered with Joyful Dream (IRE), placed third, ridden by Shane Kelly, who in turn interfered with Black Truffle (FR), placed seventh, ridden by Ellie MacKenzie.
Being a 7lb claiming apprentice, MacKenzie was offered the opportunity to be accompanied in the enquiry, but declined.
Bennett was suspended for 6 days for improper riding as he made a manoeuvre into a tight field shortly after the start, when it ought to have been obvious to the rider that interference would result, causing Kelly to be shifted right off his intended line on to Black Truffle (FR), whose quarters were turned and became unbalanced as a result.
The second incident occurred shortly before entering the first bend, when Swiss Cross (GB), unplaced, ridden by Grace McEntee, edged marginally right interfering with Bennett, who in turn interfered with Kelly, who in turn interfered with MacKenzie.
Being a 7lb claiming apprentice, McEntee was offered the opportunity to be accompanied in the enquiry, but declined.
The interference was found to be accidental as McEntee edged slightly right further tightening a compressed field which resulted in Joyful Dream (IRE) having to be significantly checked.
Following the race, Ellie MacKenzie reported that Black Truffle (FR), placed seventh, suffered interference approaching the first bend, Thore Hammer Hansen reported that Haraz (IRE), placed eighth, was never travelling and Charlie Bennett reported that Poetic Motion (GB), placed fourth, hung left-handed throughout.
