The Stewards requested a report from P.G. Fahey, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Diggin Deep, placed first, as compared with its recent form. P. G. Fahy stated that the application of first time blinkers and tongue tie over a longer trip had helped to bring about the apparent improvement in form. The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Toughari, trained by Thomas Mullins, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Inviction, trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to have an over reach but to be otherwise post race normal.
