The Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Burren View Lady, ridden by A.M. Glynn, and trained by Denis Gerard Hogan. Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer's representative concerned. A.M. Glynn, stated that having had a bad draw, his instructions were to get a good position in the race, keep his mount on the bridle and push for home having taken the home turn. He further stated that when he made attempts to use his whip in the closing stages he fumbled it and was weary of unsettling his mount thereafter. Megan Donnellan, authorised representative of D.G. Hogan, stated that A.M. Glynn was instructed to break fast, get to the front and try to win. Megan Donnellan further stated that she was satisfied with the ride having regard to A.M. Glynn's lack of experience. The Stewards also received a report from the Turf Club Veterinary Officer who stated that Burren View Lady was post race normal. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards noted the explanation offered.
An extended handicap for three yrs old and upwards rated 45-65 Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 6lb extra; for each race won.
