A regular competitor in the top graded races over the past few seasons, the Lorna Fowler-trained nine-year-old shaped with plenty of promise when third in a Grade 2 at Ascot recently. Although undoubtedly vulnerable to an improver, he nonetheless sets the standard. Winner of two of her four starts to date, the Willie Mullins-trained Got Glory remains open to further progression. It would be no surprise to see the mare develop into a smart type this season. A beaten favourite on his recent chasing debut, Jigoro has to be of serious interest back over flights.

We knew before the race we'd have to make the running and I wasn't really worried about that but it is a relief more than anything. There was so much expectation riding on him to nail the maiden and get it done and he has. It will give him huge confidence and I think we now have a good bar from what he did last season. I hope we have a lot to look forward to now and I'd like to take him to Cheltenham in three weeks for the Supreme Novices Trial because I think it'll be good to get there and see how he travels. He is in a really good place, I have a bit to work on with him as I didn't have him 100%, because it is a long season. I'm delighted with that. Barry gave him a grand ride, he was very strong on him at the end and he needed it. He would have loved to have the two hurdles there, unfortunately they can't be there for safety reasons, as he's a lovely quick jumper at home. We did have a bit of a concern about the ground, I was here early this morning and there was a lot of rain fell. I just thought it might take the edge of him a bit coming up the straight. They went quick enough early on but he finished very strong. He'll stay further than two miles by the look of things. He had a few niggly problems since the last day but that was good. He's always been a nice horse. He had a lovely run in Navan last year (third in September) and had a little touch of a tendon after it, so he had the year off. Hopefully, he'll be alright in the morning and we can keep going. He loves that ground, he wouldn't be a horse for the heavy winter ground. He's a lovely horse and had a couple of nice bumper runs. We knew he wanted a bit of better ground. He's still a baby, still learning on the job, and will be better over a little bit further, I think.
