FormscanBy Alan Magee - HEY SUNSHINE was placed twice in bumpers and has taken well to hurdles winning both starts. She got on top in the closing stages at Downpatrick last time and should be suited by this step up in distance. Riding arrangements suggest she’s preferred to Cool Park who scored in fine style at Fairyhouse last month, while point-to-point winner Tareze was also a wide-margin winner at Clonmel on her latest start and is another open to further improvement. Pastorale kept some good company over hurdles last season, while Limerick maiden winner Cottesloe Sunshine and Whimsy are others to note.

She hit the first hurdle in Thurles the last day and her race was over as she got a bad fright. We gave her a break after that. She’s a top class mare and was third in a Grade 2 bumper at Leopardstown. James said she took a blow turning in and had plenty left in the tank. I was disappointed with myself that I didn’t have her fitter than that. That was brilliant and I'm delighted for Sally Rowley-Williams as she has been a tremendous supporter of ours for years and it is lovely to see her win with a really nice homebred. She was a nice mare in the spring, but was always big and I felt she'd do better with a bit of time under her belt. She is still only a five-year-old, will improve plenty although definitely wouldn't want the ground any better than that.
