FormscanBy Tom Weekes - POETS COTTAGE disappointed on a recent flat run but previously showed form. He has proven himself on testing ground, ran a nice race when fourth at Sligo in May and while he weakened tamely at Leopardstown 21 days ago, that was over an inadequate mile distance and he should be ready for the season's opening juvenile hurdle. Chargo ran well enough in Dundalk maidens for Johnny Murtagh last winter and has since moved to Gordon Elliott. She meets contrasting ground conditions on reappearance run, over jumps, but her presence in this first hurdle race for juveniles is somewhat notable. Tory Reel ran a nice race, albeit from a low rating, on the flat recently and is a well-bred half-brother to a Group 3 winner and another useful jumper Exchange Rate. He was well held in soft-ground maidens last year but improved when finishing well at Limerick, suggesting he will stay national hunt distances.
