FormscanBy Gary Carson - LUCKY ZEBO is still relatively unexposed over fences and may be able to land a tricky looking contest here. The seven-year-old won his beginners chase here in fine style last July before a slightly unlucky effort in a rated novice contest at Wexford when hampered in the closing stages. He won his return over timber at Cork in late March and didn't run too badly at Punchestown early last month. Optional Mix ran well when chasing home the well handicapped Mousey Brown here just over two weeks ago and despite running from a few pounds out of the handicap she could be a big player. Gaelic Arc has been knocking on the door and is another to consider.

Quotes on Seddon (IRE)
One of the girls in the (Galaxy Racing) syndicate said to me 'it's unbelievable' and I said 'it is unbelievable',. He is such an easy horse for me to do anything with. It made sense to come for the hurdle, even though it was strong, with his mark. Ben gave him a beautiful ride and as I said at Cheltenham he just loves galloping. People give out about horse racing and say it's cruel and all that rubbish. He should be the poster boy for racing because he loves doing it and on top of that he's very good. He's been a horse of a lifetime for these boys and for me. I don't want it to end but it has to end sometimes. I've been banging on about the American Grand National since Leopardstown. He's 148 over fences now, two-mile-five on good ground so why not. It would be some trip and he's paid for it anyway. We thought he might win a race and get to Cheltenham in October for the guys but to have done what he's done is crazy. What do you do to top Cheltenham now? He's probably not good enough to win graded races in this country. After Seddon (IRE) finished 1st at Punchestown on Sat, 29th Apr 2023 2m 3f Hcap Hurdle Good to Yielding

Quotes on Lucky Zebo (GB)
That was great and Jamie (Lawson Maher, owner) was down here so that was good. He’s progressing. We went over fences for a couple of runs which he did really well but there wasn’t a whole lot coming up so we said we’d come back and have a look over hurdles. It was lovely to see him go and do that again. We’ve had loads of fun with him so far and hopefully he’ll keep improving. After Lucky Zebo (GB) finished 1st at Gowran Park on Fri, 29th Sep 2023 2m 4f Hcap Hurdle Soft to Heavy

That was well deserved but most importantly Rocket Lad and David are up okay,. A lot of thanks must go to John Bleahen who mentioned the horse to me, and my wife Natalie is into him with three guys from Moycullen. They had a horse with me before that got a fall and was killed one day at Fontwell. Quotes on The Dasher Conway (IRE)
In fairness to Donagh he gave him a super ride. He made a bad mistake and crept his way back into it. I was worried that we wouldn’t catch the horse in front but he’s battled on well after the last. He was in great form and had a good run in Punchestown where he ran on well from the last and we thought back in grade this evening would suit him. It’s been a great day. Quotes on Gaelic Arc (IRE)
I couldn't believe who made that horse 14/1, it was a joke! We changed the way of riding him and he didn't come off the bridle at Down Royal, so I was wondering what I was missing - I couldn't understand it. He had gone off the boil after having a hard race behind American Mike last December and he loves the top of the ground. His half-brother won (Galop Marin) won four French Grade 1s. That chap (Prendergast) is in with me three days a week and this horse was his first winner as a conditional jockey at Down Royal. I left him on again today and it is great for him. After Gaelic Arc (IRE) finished 1st at Clonmel on Thu, 12th May 2022 2m Hurdle Good

Quotes on Pakens Rock (IRE)
I'm delighted. He seems to favour tracks that he likes. He's won four times at Galway, twice here and twice in Thurles. It's nice for a small yard and small owners. I drive the wheelbarrow, tractor and horsebox!. He's the horse of a lifetime for me, a horse that keeps pulling it out. He's gutsy. Hopefully he can rack up another one or two. He might get into the Blazers (at Galway), he's entered in the Galway Plate just because he won the trial and gets a complimentary entry. There is a hurdle race there as well and I wouldn't rule that out. He'll run once I'd say, whatever we get into we'll go for that. He'll have a few entries and will run in whatever he can be most competitive in. He came from behind the last day, he was in the middle of them today and he can make it as well. He's won on firm, soft and nearly everything. He's just a real durable horse. I have two horses and 50 per cent strike rate! After Pakens Rock (IRE) finished 1st at Kilbeggan on Fri, 21st Jul 2023 2m 3f Hcap Chase Soft

Quotes on Good As Hell (IRE)
She has won again so it's grand and for some reason she isn't as good going right-handed. She would have been Brian's (Hayes) ride only he chose to go to Kilbeggan and Niall was able to claim 7lb. There's a mares' handicap hurdle at Listowel where she is only rated 109 so that's the attraction. There may be a reason she is that bit better over fences than hurdles but we'll have one go over hurdles. After Good As Hell (IRE) finished 1st at Killarney on Fri, 25th Aug 2023 2m 1f Hcap Chase Yielding to Soft

Quotes on Optional Mix (IRE)
She is keeping the yard going for the winter and is a great mare. She was back over hurdles today and is probably a stronger, better mare this year. She had a lower mark over hurdles so we had to use it and Emily gave her a great ride and was claiming the 7lb. Jerry (Hughes) owns her and would like to breed from her so we might look for a bit of blacktype - she is worth a chance at it as she is one of the most consistent mares in training. Emily's uncle Ray (Cody, trainer) worked with me for years so this is great. We are all local and it is great to get a winner at the Christmas festival. After Optional Mix (IRE) finished 1st at Limerick on Tue, 27th Dec 2022 2m 4f Hcap Hurdle Soft to Heavy

Quotes on El Champo (IRE)
I thought this was the ideal race for him after going up (in the weights) having won over 2m3f on soft ground the last day. He was back in trip, but I wanted to let him roll on and Paddy (O'Hanlon) is so good at making the running. He was left to dictate and around here that suits and his jumping was better today. In Ireland where do you find an ordinary race? That could be his final handicap hurdle as such as he got beaten previously off 98. Maybe I was a bad trainer, but we're stepping up and up now and he'll probably go chasing at some stage. After El Champo (IRE) finished 1st at Galway on Sun, 29th Oct 2023 2m Hcap Hurdle Heavy
