The Raceday Stewards interviewed J.S. McGarvey, rider of Bearwithmenow, concerning his use of the whip in this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who accepted that he had used his whip excessively and said his mount was very lazy and that ever travelled at any stage in the race. He concluded by stating that his mount was very ungenuine. The Raceday Stewards also received a report from the I.H.R.B. Veterinary Officer,which included photographic evidence. Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that J.S. McGarvey was in breach of both Regulation 10.3(f)(force) and Regulation 10.3.(g)(frequency). Having taken his previous record into account(second offence), the Raceday Stewards suspended J.S. McGarvey for ten racedays
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Dinoland (FR), trained by John C
McConnell, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be sore post race
B.W. Harvey, rider of Dinoland (FR), trained by John C. McConnell, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount stopped quickly
M.P. O'Connor, rider of Lucky Two, trained by Thomas Gibney, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was badly hampered by the fallers at the second last hurdle
