Upon leaving the stalls, Pearl Eye (GB), placed third, jumped sharply left-handed at the same time that Totnes (IRE), unplaced, jumped right-handed, resulting in the winner, Harlem Nights (IRE) becoming short of room between the two and slowly away as a result, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Following the race, Jason Watson reported that Pearl Eye (GB), placed third, jumped left-handed from the stalls and William Pyle reported that Katar (IRE), unplaced, was slowly away and ran too freely.
