Jumping the fourth last hurdle, Sefton Warrior (GB), placed sixth, jumped right hampering Asharann (FR), placed eighth, but after reviewing a recording of the incident, it was found no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Sefton Warrior (GB).
The winner Dutch Admiral (IRE), appeared to show improved form, compared with its previous run at Uttoxeter on 22 August 2020 where the gelding finished fifth of nine runners, beaten by 44 lengths.
David Bridgwater’s representative stated that the gelding benefitted from being able to dominate on this occasion and in what was in his opinion was a poor race.
Their explanation was noted.
