Inside the final 1/2 furlong, the winner, Daphne May (GB), edged left, at the same time as Adelita (IRE), placed third, shifted right, causing the weakening Queen Of Burgundy (GB), placed sixth to be momentarily steadied, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of either Daphne May (GB) or Adelita (IRE).
Following the race, Ray Dawson reported that Canoodled (IRE), placed fifth, was slowly away and hung left-handed.
