Gabriele Malune reported that Flora Tristan (GB), placed eighth, stopped quickly and the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination revealed the filly to be stiff behind.
Theodore Ladd reported that approximately 3 furlongs out, Bond Angel (GB), placed third, was caught on the heels of a weakening Flora Tristan (GB) and was subsequently denied a clear run.
