The winner, Arqalina (IRE), appeared to show improved form, compared with its previous run at Hereford on 12 December 2020 where the mare finished sixth of ten runners, beaten by 30 lengths.
It was noted that Venetia Williams could offer no explanation for the mare’s improved form.
Arqalina (IRE) was routine tested.
Following the race, Sean Bowen reported that Kiera Royale (IRE), which was pulled up, was never travelling and David Rees reported that the mare was unsuited by the going which was officially described as Soft, Heavy in places and in his opinion was riding dead; the Veterinary Officer reported that a post- race examination of Kiera Royale (IRE) failed to reveal any abnormalities, other than the mare had lost its right-hind shoe.
