An enquiry was held to consider two instances of interference in the home straight involving Electric Blue (GB), placed fourth, ridden by Luke Morris; Global Vision (IRE), placed fifth, ridden by Stefano Cherchi and First Lott (GB), placed sixth, ridden by Richard Kingscote.
The first incident, which occurred for some distance in the early part of the home straight, was found to be accidental and caused initially by Electric Blue (GB) moving slightly right-handed on the point of the bend, making contact with Global Vision (IRE), causing that gelding to become unbalanced.
Thereafter Global Vision (IRE) lugged persistently left-handed despite Cherchi's efforts to straighten his mount which resulted in the pair racing tightly and bumping on several occasions.
In the the second incident, from approaching 1 furlong out, Kingscote was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he allowed his mount to hang right-handed without timely or sufficient correction, tightening Electric Blue (GB) onto Global Vision (IRE), causing both runners to be hampered.
Approximately ½ furlong out, Readman (GB), placed second, shifted quickly right-handed despite the best efforts of its rider, hampering First Lott (GB), placed sixth, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Readman (GB).
Approximately ½ furlong out, the winner, The Waterman (GB), edged slightly left-handed at the same time that Electric Blue (GB), placed fourth, lugged right-handed, causing Global Vision (IRE), placed fifth, to be eased when tightened for room, but after viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of The Waterman (GB) or Electric Blue (GB).
Following the race, Kieran Shoemark reported that Readman (GB), placed second, was slowly away and Faye McManoman reported that her saddle had slipped on Nagasaki Dream (GB), placed eighth.
The Veterinary Officer reported that Lion Ring (IRE), placed seventh, lost its right-fore shoe and Highest Ambition (FR), unplaced, was found to be lame on its right-fore.
