The representative of Alexandra Dunn reported that The British Lion (IRE), placed sixth, had run without its tongue strap as it had come adrift on the way to post, but she was unable to ascertain if it had affected the gelding's performance.
The winner, King Crimson (GB), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Wolverhampton on 7 May 2019, where the gelding finished seventh of seven, beaten by 11 ½ lengths.
John Butler’s explanation that the gelding was suited by a return to Brighton was noted; King Crimson (GB) was routine tested.
