Rounding the home turn, Profound Alexander (IRE), unplaced, hung right-handed at the same time as Chookie Dunedin (GB), placed third, edged marginally left-handed causing Global Warning (GB), placed fifth, to be hampered when disappointed for a clear run but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Chookie Dunedin (GB).
An enquiry was held to consider interference inside the final furlong involving the winner Flatley (GB), ridden by David Probert, Dark Swansong (IRE), placed second, ridden by John Fahy and Minwah (USA), placed fourth, ridden by Stefano Cherchi.
Fahy was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as after Dark Swansong (IRE) had suffered some slight intimidation from Flatley (GB) drifting left-handed towards the colt, he thereafter had allowed his mount to shift left-handed without correction for a number of strides when not clear of Minwah (USA), causing Cherchi to be checked in his run.
Approaching the final ½ furlong, Rocket Yogi (IRE), unplaced, had to be checked when disappointed for a clear run to the inside of a weakening Blue Flame (IRE), placed sixth, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Following the race, Saffie Osborne reported that Milltown Star (GB), unplaced, stopped quickly.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities.
