An enquiry was held to consider why Richard Guest was running Lady Joanna Vassa (IRE) here at Musselburgh on going described as Good to Firm, Good in places, having declared the mare a non-runner at Beverley on 25 August 2019 on ground with the same official description.
The trainer stated that he was happier for the mare to take her chance at Musselburgh on a flat track rather than down the hill at Beverley on the Good to Firm, Good in places ground.
Permission was given for Lady Joanna Vassa (IRE) and Bronze Beau (GB) to go to post early.
Following the race, Corey Madden reported that Jeffrey Harris (GB), placed eighth, reared as the stalls opened and was then denied a clear run in the final half furlong.
