Permission was given for Badrah (USA) to wear a red hood which was removed at the start.
The winner, Noble Peace (GB), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Chelmsford on 10 August 2021 where the gelding finished last of seven, beaten 3 ½ lengths.
Simon Pearce's explanation that the gelding had benefitted from a return to Lingfield, over a course and distance on which Noble Peace (GB) had previously won was noted; the gelding was routine tested.
Shortly after the start and entering the first bend, Badrah (USA), unplaced, hung right-handed taking Fox Leicester (IRE), placed seventh, off its intended line, but after viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Just inside the final half furlong Mafia Power (GB), placed third, shifted right-handed making contact with Time Interval (GB), placed sixth, which in turn made contact with Pride Of England (GB), placed fourth.
Shortly thereafter, on the run to the line, Pride Of England (GB) ducked quickly left-handed before being immediately corrected, causing it to bump Time Interval (GB).
After viewing a recording of both incidents it was found that no riding offence was involved and it had not improved the placing of any horse.
Following the race, William Buick reported that Badrah (USA), unplaced, moved poorly; the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the filly failed to reveal any abnormalities.
