At the first hurdle, Rocked Up (IRE), placed second, jumped slightly left-handed crowding Scealoghan (IRE), placed fourth, for room and causing it to make heavy contact with the hindquarters of Rock The Hill (IRE), placed third, which became unbalanced as a result, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Rocked Up (IRE).
The performance of Cool Rain (IRE) which started favourite before weakening quickly in the back straight and being pulled up, was considered.
Matt Sheppard could offer no explanation for the mare's performance which was making its debut for the yard, but did indicate that consideration would be given to employing different tactics in future with Cool Rain (IRE) after having made the running on this occasion.
His comments were noted.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the mare, during routine testing failed to reveal any abnormalities.
