The Stewards enquired into an incident in the closing stages involving Caldwell Diamond (FR), ridden by Mr J.J
Codd and Old Bill Barley, ridden by Mr P.W. Mullins, where it appeared that Old Bill Barley crossed Caldwell Diamond. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Mr. J.J. Codd stated that he suffered only minor interference. Mr. P. W. Mullins stated that when his mount changed legs it fell in towards the rail. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that any interference which occurred was accidental in nature, and they took no further action
