Alhammaam (IRE) kicked the rail leaving the chute onto the course.
Having been examined by the Veterinary Surgeon at the start, the gelding was deemed fit to race Approximately 1 furlong out, Athmad (IRE), placed third, shifted slightly right causing Morlaix (GB), the winner, to be moved off its intended line, which in turn caused it to give a bump to Alhammaam (IRE), placed second.
However, after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Following the race, Rossa Ryan reported that State Secretary (IRE), placed fifth, ran free in the early stages in a slowly run race.
