This developed into a farcical spectacle as the 11-runners crawled for a long way before turning the contest into a sprint at the business end which was won in a good manner by Zarinava (Daylami-Zariliya). Take nothing away from the Jessica Harrington trained winner who was ten-lengths sixth in her debut at the same venue on unsuitable ground and the trainer revealed that a break following that and the way this race panned out suited her charge who will go for a maiden on the flat before hurdling next season.

Another filly, Lady Kilcooley made a very promising debut for George Kingston and connections should have plenty of fun with her while Barry Connell can expect to steer Tripolovitch to success for trainer Conor O'Dwyer. No Passa Nada comes from the Noel Meade yard which still haven't trained a bumper winner since late December and a truer run race would probably help this one who was disappointing all the same.
