Having reviewed recordings of the false start, the Starters were satisfied that no riders should be reported for contravening the starting procedures.
The winner Black Gerry (IRE) appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Kempton on 25 February 2023 where the gelding was pulled up.
The Stewards noted the explanation given by Gary Moore that the gelding may have appreciated a stronger pace and slower surface, officially described as Good to Soft, Soft in places, on this occasion.
Black Gerry (IRE) was routine tested.
Following the race, Paul O’Brien reported that Xcitations (GB) made a bad mistake at the fourth last fence resulting in the gelding being pulled up.
Derek Fox reported that Corrigeen Rock (IRE), unplaced, was outpaced.
