This competitive handicap was won very easily by Rock Moss for the in-form jim Bolger yard.

Rock Moss had only made his seasonal debut four days earlier when 3rd to Croi Mo Ri at Fairyhouse and showed dramatic improvement, quickening up with over a furlong to race and won going away by 1 1/2 lengths.

The runner-up Northern Dare, trained in England by Dandy Nicholls, was always on the pace and despite proving no match for the winner in the closing stages still pulled 3 lengths clear of the remainder.

Miss Gorica, from another in-form stable, ran well under a big weight especially considering that he was racing in the centre of the track.

Epic Odyssey (16/1 to 10/1)a maiden winner over the course and distance on his last start performed well on his handicap debut and should pick up a handicap before the season ends.

The well supported favourite Aine (4/1 in morning into 5/2) held every chance, but failed to pick up when asked for her effort with two furlongs to race.

Non-runners were Magic Carpet with a temperature and Mary Josephine with a blood disorder.
