An enquiry was held to consider interference on the bend approaching the final hurdle when the winner Benito (FR), ridden by Sean Quinlan interfered with Cash Again (FR) placed fifth, ridden by Kevin Brogan.
Quinlan was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he had made a misjudgement when shifting right into an insufficient gap as Cash Again AGAIN (FR) hung right, causing that gelding to be bumped and shifted further right.
The performance of Jelski (GER) which started second favourite and was pulled up, was considered.
James Moffatt could offer no explanation for the gelding’s performance and Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of Jelski (GER), during routine testing, failed to reveal any abnormalities.
