Entering the home straight, Ghathanfar (IRE), placed fourth, shifted right-handed around the heels of Lezardrieux (GB), unplaced, at the same time as Mr Wagyu (IRE), unplaced, edged left causing Melody King (IRE), unplaced, to be crowded for room but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and it had not improved the placing of Ghathanfar (IRE).
Approaching the ½ furlong marker, a weakening Mr Wagyu (IRE) edged left-handed at the same time as Melody King (IRE) lugged right-handed, causing them to make contact and both become unbalanced but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Following the race, Ben Robinson reported that Melody King (IRE) ran too freely and Paul Mulrennan reported that Fortamour (IRE), unplaced, was denied a clear run approaching the 1 furlong marker.
The Veterinary Officer reported that Mr Wagyu (IRE) lost its right fore shoe.
