Easy win for Swan in Navan opener
He did it well. Pat said the ground was beautiful, the rain left it really nice. It was changed to good to firm this morning and I was a little bit worried as he likes to get his toe in. I was happy when I walked the track that it was safe. He was fit, he knew his job and he did it well.
Simpson records first winner on Law
That's great he has been a good servant. He likes that sort of ground. We added the blinkers as he as getting a bit clever and the claim was a big help.
Dandy gets up for winning debut
His work was always good but I wasn't sure about running him as he was very weak,. We decided to run and come to Navan as it would give him a nice experience and we could build for the season from here. We always thought he had ability. He's on the team for Ascot. Gary said he's still weak but it's a nice option to have. He handled that ground well. Gary was lucky not to get unseated going down as he jammed on at the ponies (giving rides to kids). He's still very very green and there should be masses of improvement. It bodes well for what we have at home.
Another win for Questions at Navan
He is a good horse here. He has won three times here now. He probably won a bit far and the handicapper will have his say now. I think there is a race for him here next month, and I think we will keep him for here as he is not as good anywhere else.
Light shines on his seasonal debut
You'd have to be very happy, we couldn't be happier really. We were very happy with him at home. He had got stronger and was doing all the right things. He had a penalty and everything, it was his first run and it was properly run race. We haven't seen the bottom of him yet. At the end of two miles at Ascot last year he didn't seem to be stopping. We will look forward to the Gold Cup now and he could run in the Saval Beg before it. When he get there he pulls up and that's why he wears the cheekpieces. It is lovely that they went a gallop as he could take his time and he didn't have to make his own running.
John appreciates the step up in trip
We might have run him a bit short the first couple of times. He only ran over seven furlongs twice as a 2yo and then we stepped him up to a mile and two.
Lynam doubles up with Odisseia
It's about half a mile further than most of mine run over!. She got 5lb for finishing third the last day which I thought was harsh enough but he (handicapper) knows best obviously. We're pleased, I don't know what sort of race it was as a couple of the hotpots didn't run up to scratch.
Maskoon takes the last at Navan
He turned around form with Aidan's horse as he was beaten three quarters or a length by him the last day. He will go for a handicap now. He might go another two furlongs with a little bit of restraint.
