Simpson records first winner on Law Christina Simpson recorded her first winner as she partnered the Andrew Oliver trained Above The Law to victory in the Navan Family Day Handicap. Simpson who is twenty and from Tynan in Co Armagh, has been based with Oliver for a last number of years. The winning five-year-old son of Lawman was successful over the course and distance last May, and he won again at Dundalk in January. He failed to get involved on his last six starts, and he was sent off a 16/1 chance this afternoon. Wearing blinkers for the first time he made all, and kept on well in the final furlong to score by a length and a half. Chillie Billie came out of the pack to take second at 9/1 under Robbie Downey for John Larkin, while Lily's Prince (20/1) was a short head back in third under Gary Phillips for Garvan Donnelly. Oor Jock completed the placings another half a length back in fourth under Colin Keane for Adrian McGuinness at 8/1. Pixie Spirit went off the heavily supported 5/2 favourite (was 8/1 last night, and opened at 4/1 on-course) but he could only manage seventh under Wayne Lordan for James Nash. Andrew Oliver said afterwards: "That's great he has been a good servant. He likes that sort of ground. "We added the blinkers as he as getting a bit clever and the claim was a big help. "It is all about Christina I'm delighted for her. She has been with me three or four years, she is a great girl and a great worker. Fair play to her, she gave him a great ride."
